1953 fire prevention parade

Spectators lined Howard and Baltimore streets

The Baltimore City Fire Department hosted a large parade, commemorating fire prevention week in the city.

The parade, which traveled on Howard and Baltimore streets, to finally pass a reviewing stand in front of City Hall.

Thousands gathered to watch the modern fire equipment of the department and surrounding counties and even some Pennsylvania departments participated in the event.

Also, a crowd favorite of both young and old would have been old horse drawn and antique apparatus.

This event and many like it during fire prevention week required heavy participation and cooperation from the box 414 association. This unique partnership but smiles to young and old on the parade route.
